Under the high patronage of His Excellency Dr. Firass Abiad, Minister of Public Health, Hôtel-Dieu de France recently hosted the "JOIE DE L'HDF," Hôtel-Dieu de France Obstetrics and Infertility Days. For the second consecutive year, this scientific event, led by Prof. Georges Abi Tayeh, Head of the Obstetrics and Reproduction Department, took place in the presence of Dr. Firass Abiad, the Lebanese Minister of Public Health, Mr. Nassib Nasr, General Director of the USJ-HDF Hospital Network, and Prof. Elie Nemer, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Saint-Joseph University. It also brought together numerous guests, residents, interns, and specialists in the field of obstetrics and infertility.

The event covered crucial topics such as the best stimulation protocols for IVF, guidelines and updates on thin endometrium, interactions between fertility and cancer, and recent advancements in fertility preservation from a gynecological perspective. This occasion provided an opportunity to honor Dr. Firass Abiad, Mr. Nassib Nasr, and Prof. Elie Nemer for their outstanding achievements and invaluable support, to present awards in recognition of the exceptional contributions of external guests and from abroad, and to pay tribute to the three residents who are about to graduate this year.

Head of Obstetrics and Reproduction at Hôtel-Dieu de France, Prof. Georges Abi Tayeh:

Prof. Georges Abi Tayeh emphasized the significance of the event and expressed his pleasure in welcoming the participants, stating:

"It is with great pleasure that I welcome you today to Hôtel-Dieu de France. The event we are celebrating, ‘Joie de l’HDF,’ represents a pivotal moment for our community, as it provides a valuable opportunity to exchange scientific knowledge and share our practical and academic experiences. This event also offers a chance to explore the latest research and innovations in the field of obstetrics and infertility. The goal of this congress is to provide a platform for openness, innovation, and collaboration in this medical domain. I would like to thank Hôtel-Dieu de France for hosting us, as well as the speakers, experts, and participants who accepted our invitation. Thank you to each of you for your presence, and to the organizers and sponsors who contributed to the success of this event."

General Director of the USJ-HDF Hospital Network, Mr. Nassib Nasr:

Mr. Nassib Nasr began his address by thanking the participants for their presence and expressing his appreciation with these words:

"I would like to particularly thank Prof. Abi Tayeh for organizing this event. Generally, people enter a hospital under challenging conditions, marked by illness, stress, and social or financial concerns. However, Hôtel-Dieu is also a place where families come with the hope of fertility and family creation, which is the foundation of any community. As the General Director, I am honored to welcome you once again and thank all those who support this department and these scientific activities."

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at USJ, Prof. Elie Nemer:

Prof. Elie Nemer began his remarks by stating:

"It is with great joy that I welcome you today to the ‘Joie de l’HDF’ congress. As the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Saint-Joseph University, I would like to commend the remarkable work of Hôtel-Dieu staff, particularly its director. The medical field is rapidly evolving due to technological advancements and scientific research. It is crucial that we adapt quickly to these changes to continue providing high-quality care."

His Excellency the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firass Abiad:

Dr. Firass Abiad expressed his honor at participating in the event and shared the following words:

"I am particularly pleased to be with you today for several reasons. Firstly, there is a genuine collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Saint-Joseph University, with numerous projects aimed at improving the healthcare sector in Lebanon. We hope that through community efforts, we can find opportunities to strengthen our healthcare system despite the current crises. We will soon announce an official collaboration between the Ministry and Hôtel-Dieu to enhance medical services across several public hospitals. Our main goal is to serve the community. Additionally, the topic of this congress is of great importance and concern. Social and economic changes in Lebanon impact health indicators, with an aging population. While technological advances have aided fertility, the high costs of IVF treatments remain a major issue. This drives us to work with Hôtel-Dieu to support public institutions and ensure access to care for all."

This event not only strengthened scientific and professional exchanges in the field of obstetrics and reproduction but also highlighted Hôtel-Dieu de France's ongoing commitment to medical excellence.
