Sleep Center
In July 2008, the Department of Pulmonology and Critical Care at Hôtel-Dieu de France inaugurated a new sleep laboratory that aims to assess respiratory disorders associated with sleep.
This Center, distinguished by its advanced tools, performs tests while adopting state-of-the-art techniques for efficient results in patients with sleep disorders. 2675 tests have been performed to date.
It is composed of a multidisciplinary medical team in order to meet the needs of each patient. This team is specially made up of a medical coordinator working under the Department of Pulmonology and Critical Care of HDF who oversees the implementation of operating and care protocols and organizes work within the center between doctors specialized in sleep in order to coordinate with other hospital departments, a sleep physician who reviews polysomnography recordings according to a program set by the medical coordinator, a sleep technologist with specialized training in sleep equipment and recording and a good scientific basis which makes him capable of performing polysomnography, a reception service in charge of collecting admission forms and centralize PSG, MSLT and multidisciplinary sleep consultation appointments, and finally the secretary of the Department of Pulmonology and Medical Care in charge of writing the reports of sleep physicians, sorts incoming mails and sends replies to the referring physicians.
