Welcome to Hôtel-Dieu de France's new website!

This revamp aims to introduce you to the different components of HDF and its medical and hospital services along with the facilities it can offer!

It is also intended to convey you the warm welcome of all doctors, nurses, caregivers and the administration to Hôtel-Dieu de France, the university hospital of Saint-Joseph University of Beirut.

Since 1923, our institution has been valiantly carrying out its threefold mission of providing quality care to patients, training the students of the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing Sciences of USJ and conducting scientific research.

Our hospital aims to serve the entire Lebanese population in the Middle East region and all the people who visit it. Nearly 18% of the Lebanese people benefit from our 26 medical departments and our 455 beds. Our goal is to provide quality medical and hospital services to our patients. As it has always been, HDF is a pioneer in the treatment of various diseases and the most serious cases covered by public or private third-party payers.

HDF is a hospital that has always been near the population and in solidarity with them, especially in times of crisis, as during the tragic events of the Lebanese War (1975-1991), the tragedy of the Beirut port explosion on August 4, 2020 and the COVID-19 outbreak.

Since 2018, 30 new well-equipped emergency rooms were opened; in 2016, a new palliative care department was inaugurated. In addition, the Hospital has joined the digital age, turning into an e-hospital since 2015. A center for vaccination and for family medicine has been established within HDF.

Our dynamic and evolving medical team is committed to providing you with diverse and quality services. Be assured that we remain particularly attentive to your feedback, which we will seek to obtain in several ways: surveys, multiple questionnaires, etc. This will help us improve your experience at our institution.

Along with all hospital members, the medical team and the nursing, medico-technical, administrative and logistic personnel, we hope that HDF will make you feel at home.
