At the initiative of Lebanese Office for Deafness Research (BLRS), and in collaboration with the University of Saint Joseph, a round table was organized at Hôtel-Dieu de France under the theme "The cochlear implant, scientific advances and benefits at the linguistic, educational, psychological and social levels".
The objectives of this meeting were to continue to support hearing impaired children who have benefited from a cochlear implant as well as their families, to inform them about the latest developments in cochlear implants and to allow them to share their experiences, in the presence of the pedagogical directors of several institutes and associations specialized in the care of deaf children.
This round table discussion focused on the history of the HDF Cochlear Implant Center, the technological and medical advances in implantology, the preparation and psychological support of the patient and his family, and the speech rehabilitation of cochlear implants.
