The Pediatrics Department of at Hôtel-Dieu de France, in collaboration with CHANCE – Children Against Cancer, organized a scientific event centered on an innovative national initiative aimed at reducing pain and anxiety in children prior to medical procedures.
Held at the Auditorium N. et H. Obegi, the event brought together healthcare professionals, institutional leaders, hospital staff, and committed partners around a shared objective: enhancing the hospital experience for children.
The program featured an insightful conference highlighting recent, evidence-based approaches to pediatric pain management. Speakers emphasized the importance of a comprehensive, compassionate, and innovative approach to better supporting young patients and their families.
The event was also marked by the official donation of a virtual reality device to Hôtel-Dieu de France, designed to significantly improve the management of pain and anxiety during medical care and procedures.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Nassib Nasr, General Manager of the USJ-HDF Hospital Network; Professor Roula Farah, Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, President of CHANCE, SIOP Ambassador to Lebanon, and Asia Board Member of Childhood Cancer International; and Professor Georges Dabar, Director of Medical Affairs.
The conference was followed by a technical training session for the relevant teams to ensure optimal use of the device and its effective integration into daily clinical practice.
